MAX FACTOR - Eye Brightening Mascara.

RRP: £7.99 , Black Pearl (For brown eyes.)

I'm a big fan of 'eye brightening' mascara's as I have amber colored eyes, and anything that gives my eyes that hint of orange tone just get's me excited!

Usually, I will wear a mascara or eyeliner that enhances eye color  for brown eyes, the color green is a great one to use ... BUT THEN ... i saw it ... Max Factor - Eye Brightening, Tonal Black Volumising Mascara!!

It's a mascara that has been on the market for a while and the advertising for it didn't catch me as much as other brands (even the sales assistants didn't know what I was on about), I was shopping in boots and it just randomly popped into my head so I thought i'd give it a go.

How does it work?

"individually designed mascaras for each eye colour. Each mascara makes their glamour statement by brightening your natural eye colour whether it's Black Pearl (for brown eyes), Black Sapphire (for blue peepers) or Black Ruby (for green sparklers). The formula contains light reflective particles to add a subtle brightening effect, and gem-toned colour beads which customise the reflected light to enrich eye colour. The eye-enhancing formula has a black mascara base that wraps around each lash, working with the legendary Masterpiece ifX brush to give even, clump-free volume and definition."

How does it REALLY work?

Overall I felt the color of the mascara did help to brighten my eyes, If you compare the top left picture, one eye has mascara on and the other doesn't, the difference in brightness is quite clear.
The top right picture is of both eyes wearing the mascara, the eyes look bright and the lashes look clump free and long.
However, they are not as VOLUMISED as I would of liked! When looking at the brush on the bottom left you can see the bristles are not of a fabric texture and more sturdy, most mascara's with brushes like this help with length and distributing the product without clumping as it naturally combs the lashes, i found to get my desired volume I would have to wait for it to dry and re-apply.

BEAUTY TIP:

If you are looking for a volumising and dramatic effect mascara but still want your eyes to look brighter and pop, look for a mascara in a color that enhances your eye color.
The YSL SHOCKING mascara's are fantastic! Plus they're available in a range of colors that would reflect your eyes but still dry in black and not so much in color.
Click here for YSL Shocking Mascara.  (I'm a fan of Jade Black.)

I hope that helped and I would love to know what YOU think of the mascara :)

A Newbie blogger!

Iv'e clicked on the "start blogging" tab and i'm actually nervous! There are so many beauty bloggers out there which is what put me off starting all this, BUT, it's got to the point where I need somewhere to vent my opinions and beauty addiction somewhere, so this is the place :) I was thinking of starting a YouTube channel on makeup videos but kept putting it off, a blog would give me a good head start i think. Should I tell you more about what I do?? I will in my next blog ... an excuse to make me keep blogging! hahaha ... and if someone is actually reading this .. hello :)
